Double Springs Alabama
Bankhead National Forest
The forest became the Alabama National Forest on January 15, 1918. In June of 1936 Presiden Framklin D. Roosevelt renamed the forest the Black Warrior National Forest. Then in June 1942 the name was changed one final time to the William B. Bankhead National Forest. It is one of four national forest in the state of Alabama.
