Soothing Our Souls

We all have that place that soothes our souls. One of my soothing places in the Orange Beach / Gulf Shores area in lower Alabama.
There is something about the taste of salt in the air that automatically puts my jumbled mind at ease.
Back in 2016 I was searching for an Instagram caption to attach to a beach photo. I came across this quote by Behati Prinsloo, "The beach is definitely where I feel most at home. It's my oxygen. I forget how much I need it sometimes when I am away working". As soon as I read that quote I knew that someone else understood my connection to this beach. While mine and Behati's beaches are not in the same location they both instill that same feeling.

Standing at the edge of the water with the Gulf of Mexico kissing your feet it's hard to remember the stress and strain of everyday life. With water as far as the eye can see it's easier to remember that we live in such a big world. During our day to day lives we build our problems and worries into these big colossal mountains. When you have the opportunity to see something much grander than yourself it helps put things back in perspective for you. What you once thought of as an impossible mountain to climb is now a manageable mole hill.
